Every bed bug job is different and so the intent of this info is to give an overview of the process we use to illustrate the thoroughness and value in our bed bug treatments.

Heat Treatment

Heat effectively kills all life stages of bed bugs including the eggs in a single treatment. Heat treatments have so many advantages that we really have been leaning away from conventional chemical treatments. We can successfully eliminate all bed bugs and their eggs with just one treatment. There is no better treatment for bed bugs.

• Less Money- Heat treatments may have more up front cost but are almost always more cost effective than conventional chemical treatments

Bed Bug Canine Inspection- We start with a canine inspection to confirm the presence of bed bugs and identify key harborages.

Visual Inspection – Thorough visual inspection looking for live or dead bed bugs, as well as blood spots on mattress, box springs, or bed linens

Prepare the room- We take the room apart to allow maximum air flow and to eliminate cold spots.

Chemical Barrier- We spray a residual product called Demand CS combined with a product called Kicker to form a barrier around the rooms to prevent bed bugs from escaping the heat treatment.

Wall Void Treatment- We remove all outlet covers and fill wall voids with a residual dust like diatomaceous earth.

Heat Treatment- We slowly heat the room and all the contents to 130-150 degrees and hold that temperature for at least 3 hours. We have temperature probes placed throughout the area and we monitor and log these temperatures every 15 minutes. When needed we rotate furniture to ensure thorough heat penetration. We also perform frequent walkthroughs and measure temperatures using an infrared thermometer.

Canine Post-treatment Inspection- If desired, 24 hours the heat treatment we can bring our bed bug detection canine, Radar, back through the treated rooms to confirm complete elimination.

Conventional Chemical and Non-Chemical Treatment

Canine Inspection – We start with a canine inspection to confirm the presence of bed bugs and identify key harborages.

Visual Inspection – Thorough visual inspection looks for live or dead bed bugs, as well as blood spots on the mattress, box springs, or bed linens.

Bag Linens – Spider Spray removes bed linens and bag them to be washed.

Steam Treat – We steam-treat the mattress, box spring, bed frames and anything else seen needed.

Bedlam Treatment – We treat the mattress, box spring, and any other furniture with Bedlam focusing on seams and cracks and crevices.

Chemical treatment – Spider Spray treats the mattress, box spring, bed frame, headboard, furniture, baseboards, carpet, cracks and crevices, walls and ceiling, and anything else that can be treated.

Mattress Encasement – Spider Spray will encase the mattress with an appropriate encasement. (The encasement is not included in the price.)

Dust – Treat bed frame and wall voids with dust.

Interceptors – We install Climb-up interceptors if usable. (There is an additional charge for the price of the interceptors.)

Communicate – Spider Spray will communicate to our customer that they should not keep things stored under bed and should not change where they are sleeping. They should keep things as cleaned and picked up as possible. Clutter gives them places to hide. They should also keep a log of bites.

Re-treat – Re-treat every 10 days until eliminated.

Re-inspect with Canine – Re-inspect the home with our bed bug detection dog 30 days after the last chemical treatment to confirm elimination.
