• Usually takes 3-4 treatments at minimum
• Heavy exposure to chemicals
• A lot of preparation
• Usually takes 1-3 months to complete elimination
• Eggs are difficult to control with chemicals
• Bed bugs are showing great resiliency to modern pesticides
• Chemicals do not penetrate deep into cracks and crevices and furniture easily if at all
• Often have to throw away costly furniture
